About me

My name is Ian Blyth.

I work on the web.

For the past seven years, I’ve been making things happen on the web. From large scale site launches to weekly email newsletters, I've done it all.

As Interactive Project Manager with Sapphire Technologies, I was responsible for managing and completing special projects in addition to my regular duties of maintaining all editorial content on each of Giant Eagle’s corporate websites, as well as providing quality assurance for each circular for every Giant Eagle branch location (225 in total).

As Director of Marketing for Simio LLC, a simulation software company in Sewickley, Pa., I have handled all aspects of communication included a complete website redesign; multi-tiered public relations, email marketing and SEO campaign; and a content-creation-to-completion case study program. I led a targeted email marketing campaign designed to generate leads for specific areas of business. In this position, I coded, created copy, tested and disseminated the company’s email newsletter on my own. Additionally, I was able to place my company’s website on page 1 of Google for a coveted, competitive, and targeted keyword.

For Hanley Wood LLC in Washington, D.C., I was promoted to Senior Web Producer, given a project management role, and charged with training my colleagues after launching the first website in the company’s new content management system. By leading an integrated social-, web-, and email-marketing campaign, I was able to raise ecohomemagazine.com’s monthly page view count to over 100,000 views per-month in five months.

At the NEA Foundation, the non-profit arm of the country’s largest teachers’ union, I handled all communication functions including event management, web management, and graphic design. As a staff writer for Southern Maryland Newspapers, I was recognized as the best sports writer for my circulation.
